Trinity University’s Department of Chemistry provides a challenging and supportive learning environment that gives students a comprehensive and rigorous foundation in the chemical sciences. We engage students as collaborators in our research laboratories, and we bring our research expertise to the classroom.
Areas of Study
Chemistry is the Central Science
Chemistry connects the physical sciences with the life sciences and applied sciences, including engineering and medicine. Chemists understand the properties and dynamics of matter, and they have the skills to analyze and manipulate matter. Chemistry drives much of the world economy, for example the pharmaceutical, petroleum, polymers, and hygiene industries. Trinity chemistry and biochemistry graduates have the knowledge, skills, and experience to enter the workforce immediately, and they often pursue advanced degrees in science or medicine.

Chemistry Programs
Our degree programs are designed to prepare students to be professional chemists and biochemists and to be competitive for graduate programs. The B.S. Chemistry and B.S. Biochemistry programs are certified by the American Chemical Society.
Interdisciplinary Majors
The department supports interdisciplinary majors that integrate chemistry with related disciplines.
